All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17
I am a native of Charleston, South Carolina. As a pastorâs son, I have been involved with churches in SC, NC, VA, MD, and TN. In 1998 I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Averett College in Danville, VA and then in 2002 I received my Master of Divinity degree in Counseling from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
I have served two congregations both in Danville: first at Mount Hermon Baptist as Associate Pastor/Minister of Education and Administration from 2002-2007, and then at Shermont Baptist as senior pastor since October 1, 2007. I am married to Mandy, an 8th grade Language Arts teacher and have two sons, Ethan and Aaron. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, football, and NASCAR.
I have a passion for sharing the Word of God in such a way as to convey its truth, relevance, and application in everyday life. I love worship, both corporate and private, and value the importance and power of prayer. As I continue to grow in my walk with the Lord, I seek to help others do the same, through personal relationships, missions, and other ministry opportunities within our community.
